Librarian Ms. Miller Retiring June 30,2011

The end of the 2010-11 school year will be my last. I have loved being at Winchester High School and enjoyed the faculty, students and parents. Thank you for all your support and help.

WHS students are awesome. When I started at WHS in 1998, there were 4 IMac computers and all the walls were orange. Today, there are 16 Desktop and 6 Dell Laptops. We have a Global News Center and a thriving Hot Chocolate, tea and coffee area. The Library has become the center of the school. The teachers are assigning many research projects that use our 24/7 school library website for the databases. Students are learning research and information literacy while doing all these projects in the library. With the help of the PFA and WFEE we have added technology and sources like JSTOR.org for students to learn and use in their college years. Our goal was always to prepare for a successful college and work experience after High School. I wish all the student well and will remember them all. Thank you, Karen Miller, Retired Librarian ( well, maybe retired but very busy still).

End of October- Mock vote at WHS

Do you know who she is? Know anything about the Green Party?
If you don't , you need to know more before you vote. In the library, you will find the Election cart with information about ALL the candidates and all the issues. The cart will be in Social Studies some of the time, but mostly in the library.
You will be voting during your Social Studies classess on Oct. 30 Thursday Day 4. If you do not have a Social Studies class on Day 4, you will vote by absentee ballot the day before on Oct. 29 in your Social Studies classes. The absentee ballots will be counted on Oct. 30.
Watch all the debates, but learn about the other candidates as well.
